Our Story

Victory Food Group is rooted in resilience, family, and a relentless drive to build something greater than ourselves. Our story begins with our father, Thomas Mathew, who immigrated to the United States from Kerala, India, with a vision for opportunity and growth. Alongside our mother, Daisy Mathew, he built and operated successful Asian and African grocery stores – establishing deep relationships within diverse communities and laying the foundation for what would come next.

In 2004, that vision expanded into Global Seafood Wholesale, a business built on trust, quality, and consistency. What started as a focused seafood operation quickly became a reliable partner for restaurants and foodservice providers across Texas.

Today, their children – Merrill, Marily, and Merrin – are inspired by their parents’ journey, sacrifice, and entrepreneurial spirit to carry this legacy forward and push it to new heights. With a deep understanding of the industry and a passion for growth, we are expanding beyond seafood into poultry, beef, and diversified food products, positioning Victory Food Group as a comprehensive food partner.

As we continue to grow, our focus extends beyond distribution into innovation and expansion. We are entering the retail space with unique, high-quality products while building a strong portfolio of brands, partnerships, and investments across the food industry.
